POPULAR VOTE vs ELECTORAL COLLEGE

OREGON SENATE IS NULLIFYING OREGON VOTES  for PRESIDENT

On April 9, 2019 The Oregon Senate broke its Oath of Office to the people of Oregon, The Oregon Constitution and The Constitution of the United States.

Question: Were you notified of this action? If not WHY not.

The Oregon Senate, without asking or even notifying the voters of Oregon, passed SB 870 which would change the power of the Oregon voter in Presidential elections and hand it to Portland.  The House of Representatives has not yet voted on the issue but since the House is split 38D and 22R it will undoubtedly pass.

By their vote the Oregon Senate has, by just 15 Democrats and 2 Republicans ( Brian Boquist and Chuck Tomsen ) voting Aye, started a process to remove the State of Oregon voter rights from under the US Constitution Article II Section 1 AND , according to the Constitution of the United States Article VI, have also treacherously broken their oath to the Oregon Constitution and our Constitution Of The United States:

Article VI “The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several state legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation to support this Constitution;”

Don’t forget …To become a ‘State’ the territory had to pledge an oath to the US Constitution.

Whether you agree or disagree with Oregon Senate Bill 870 I would expect you are angry with their actions to change our Country and Culture, now and forever, without even blinking an eye or thinking they need to tell the people of Oregon!  What power lust have we created?

Presently our small states and/or rural areas have at times come together to have a voice.  Our Constitution gives each and every state a number of Representatives depending on population.  That is why we were given a Representative Constitutional Republic rather than a Democracy where the majority can totally control the minority.

FACTS :

1. The US has a population of approximately 324 million in 3.8 square million miles ( including self governing territories ).

2. In 2016 138 million voters turned out. The popular vote between Clinton and Trump was close with Clinton at 65,844,610 to Trump’s 62,979,640. That is a difference of approximately 2.9 million. The top 5 populated cities total approximately 20 million ( New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, and Philadelphia ) . The top 30 population states equal approximately 284 million people ( approximately 142 million voters ) .

  1. There are 3,371 counties in the US.  Trump won 3,084.

  1. There are 62 counties in NY.  Trump won 46.

US Census Map by County

Clinton won 4 of the 5 county areas in NY City and they amounted to more than the popular vote margin she had over Trump.

All this adds up to the fact a very small portion of our country would be represented under a ‘Popular Vote’. The People of Oregon were not notified OR asked to participate in this decision that is not in accord with Oregon Legislature members’ oath to the people of Oregon, Oregon’s Constitution OR the Constitution of the United States.

The following are two quotes from SB 870

  A.  SUMMARY: The  following  summary is not prepared by the sponsors of the measure and is not a part of the body thereof subject to  consideration  by the Legislative Assembly. It is an editor’s brief statement of the essential features of the measure as introduced.

B. Enacts  Interstate  Compact  for  Agreement  Among  the  States  to  Elect  the  President  by  National  Popular  Vote.

According to above item ‘A’ no Oregon legislator has seen the complete Bill which the Oregon Senate has approved.

The use of the term ‘Nation State ‘ in the bill is United Nations terminology

As a small state in America, or living in the country, have you ever bemoaned the control from your state’s largest city?

NOW … weigh each state’s present ‘ Electoral College ‘ representation against a “ Popular Vote “ control of Presidential elections.

All the above is why our Founders wisely gave us a ‘ Representative Constitutional Government ‘ rather than a Democracy ( the majority rule the minority ).
